Our experts want to help you improve your outdoor living space through this Colorado gardening workshop!

Join us for a full-day, 8:00AM-3:30PM, as we dive into timely and trendy Colorado gardening topics. Advanced purchase tickets will be available through April 22, 2019 which includes lunch. A variety of sandwiches will be served. If you have specific dietary restrictions, please bring your own food.

Workshop Topics

Session 1: 9:15am – 10:30am
Speaker: Lisa Mason
Topic: Pest Management

General integrated pest management (IPM) strategies will be covered. Learn how to best approach pest management in your backyard! Strategies for specific pests including Japanese Beetle, Emerald Ash Borer, deer and rabbits will also be covered.

Session 2: 10:45am – 12:00pm

Topic: Edible Spaces in Small Places

Don’t let the lack of garden space keep you from enjoying fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs. Discover how to turn a balcony, patio, deck, or windowsill into an economical and productive garden. This program provides everything you need to get started from creative container options to the veggie varieties that give the biggest bang for the buck

Topic: Turfgrass Management

Turfgrass is a valuable community asset. It can also drain resources if not managed properly. Learn how to efficiently manage resources like water and fertilizer to maintain a beautiful lawn while helping conserve water! There are several alternative grasses to bluegrass that require less water and maintenance that are equally as beautiful and functional.

Topic: Basics of Xeriscaping

Xeriscape is not rocks and cactus, but a colorful, lower maintenance alternative to the water-hungry landscape. Learn the principles behind xeriscaping and gather tips and tricks to create your very own xeriscape garden!
